Boston Scientific Corporation (BSC) will expand its operations in Costa Rica with a $35 million investment. The new medical device facility will produce surgical forceps for biopsies and handles for removing polyps and cauterizing during surgical procedures. Costa Rican government officials say the company plans to create more than 1,200 new jobs over the next three years, doubling its work force in that country. The plant will be BCS's second manufacturing facility in Costa Rica, and will now be the only country producing these particular medical devices for BSC.
