Cardinal Innovations Healthcare Solutions, a managed care organization, will locate its new, 25,865-square-foot service center at 10150 Mallard Creek Road, Suite 400, creating approximately 80 new jobs in Charlotte, North Carolina, during the next three to five years.

Founded in 1974, Cardinal Innovations was created by the county commissions of Cabarrus, Stanly and Union counties to manage mental health, intellectual disability and substance use in the Piedmont region. The company recently signed a contract to oversee the mental health, substance abuse and disability care of MeckLINK. The Cardinal Innovations system is a partnership among Cardinal Innovations staff, the network of qualified behavioral health providers, advocacy groups and local communities, all working in concert to deliver customized care.

“We are excited to open our new service center in Charlotte. It allows us to combine all claims processing and other functions in one location,” said Steve Timmons, Cardinal Innovations Chief Administrative Officer. “We look forward to a strong community partnership in Charlotte, just as we have in the other communities we serve.” The firm plans to hire customer service management; contract, enrollment and quality specialists; claims managers, supervisors and specialists; and various analysts, auditors, IT support and human resources support.

“Cardinal’s selection of Charlotte for its new service center further expands Mecklenburg County’s diverse and rapidly growing healthcare sector,” said Bob Morgan, Charlotte Chamber President. “We are excited about the number and variety of jobs that are being created as a result of this expansion.”
