Zwirner Equipment Company will invest $750,000 to open a new operations center in Hartsville, Tennessee, in the former SteelTek building at Hartsville-Trousdale County Industrial Park at 580 Industrial Park Dr. The building has been empty for over three years. Zwirner Equipment and the Four Lake Authority started renovating the property, which is expected to generate about 24 jobs over the next three years.

“Hartsville and the state of Tennessee provide a business environment that will be lower in cost for startup and general operation,” Zwirner Equipment Company President Eric Zwirner said. “Another prominent factor is the growing market in the southeast and the ability to export from Tennessee to Canada and South America.”

Zwirner Equipment Company will work with the Tennessee College of Applied Technology to assist with the workforce. “I’m looking forward to being an active part of the Hartsville community and will look for opportunities to engage vendors from the area,” Zwirner added. “This is a centralized location for us in respect to both customers and key suppliers.”

The company provides stainless steel processing equipment, flow control parts, tanks, pumps and kettles, for liquid products to the food, dairy, beverage and chemical industries. Zwirner’s Tennessee facility will include sales, purchasing, and remanufacturing.

The company also offers complete removal, loading and transportation of equipment, as well as a vast inventory of quality pre-owned equipment. Zwirner services include engineering, plant integration, on-site equipment repair and preventative maintenance, asset recovery and plant appraisals and evaluations. Staffing needs include welders, machinists, mechanics, polishers, laborers and office personnel.

“When companies choose to relocate their company to Tennessee, it reinforces our position as the best state to do business,” Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty said. “We offer businesses unparalleled logistical advantages, a central location and the kind of business-friendly environment where entrepreneurial spirit thrives. I want to welcome Zwirner Equipment Company to Tennessee and thank them for their valuable investment.”

“The Four Lake Board and staff are pleased to play a role in supporting jobs for our region,” Four Lake Authority Chairman and Wilson County Mayor Randall Hutto said. “Zwirner Equipment helps diversify the business sector in the region and will enhance our corporate community.”

“It is exciting to see a vacant building converted into a home for viable jobs in Hartsville,” Four Lake Authority Executive Director Don Rigsby said. “Four Lake appreciates everyone’s assistance and cooperation on this project.”

“TVA is pleased to work on the economic development team with the state of Tennessee, Four Lake Regional Industrial Development Authority and Tri-County EMC to assist Zwirner Equipment to locate and grow their equipment business in Hartsville,” TVA Senior Vice President of Economic Development John Bradley said.
