Ashland Inc., a Fortune 500 chemical company, will invest more than
$12.5 million to expand its manufacturing facility in Piedmont, South
Carolina, according to Greenville County economic development
officials. "This plan will markedly improve our new manufacturing
facility in Greenville County," says Dave Drummond, director of global
operations for Ashland Performance Materials. "The expansions and
improvements here will extend our capabilities and capacity to serve
the packaging and converting industry, and provide a highly desirable
complement to our adhesives and coatings platform." The Piedmont
facility supports the pressure-sensitive adhesives operations of
Ashland Performance Materials, a division of the Kentucky-headquartered
parent company. Officials did not release information about financial
incentives.
