Faurecia, one of the world's largest automotive equipment suppliers, opened a new tech center in Silicon Valley, California. The company aims to strengthen its relationships with automakers, innovative startups, leading universities and new actors in the mobility sector.

According to company officials, Faurecia will accelerate its start-up scouting activities in the region and build a technology platform for its Smart Life on Board and Sustainable Mobility innovation ecosystems.

Faurecia is an automotive seating, interior systems and clean mobility. The tech center will host one of the Group's Artificial Intelligence teams.

Patrick Koller, Chief Executive Officer of Faurecia: "The opening of our tech center gives Faurecia a unique opportunity to strengthen its position as the central link between all actors in the mobility sector. The concentration of stakeholders crucial to our ecosystem will allow us to step up our transformation and enable us to offer innovative solutions to attract new customers."

The Group has been active in the region for over five years and has forged strong ties with the local ecosystem, including Stanford University and the world's largest startup accelerator, Plug and Play, officials said.
