Information technology giant Yahoo Inc. will invest more than $100 million to locate two new facilities in Nebraska, according to the Nebraska governor's office. More than 100 new jobs are expected; Ohama's KETV reports that salaries will average $68,700 per year. Yahoo will locate a 150,000-square-foot data center in LaVista and a customer care center in Omaha. "Yahoo builds and operates some of the industry's most efficient data centers, and the expansion of our operations with this new facility will help Yahoo to better serve our worldwide audience of 500 million users," says Kevin Timmons, Yahoo's vice president of operations. The Omaha World-Herald reports that the company considered 17 states before choosing Nebraska. Specific information about financial incentives was not released, but the governor's office says the company will receive a package.
