Taylor Made Group, a manufacturer of original equipment for marine businesses, will expand its operations in Kendallville, Indiana, according to the Indiana governor's office. The company, which currently makes windshields for marine equipment, will invest more than $737,000 to relocate an operation in Tennessee to the Kendallville facility and will add a product line for heavy equipment windshields. They plan to add 50 new jobs next year, doubling their current work force. "Taylor Made has been in Kendallville for a long time, and we have been supported in the past with other expansion projects," says Mike Vadney, Taylor Made's plant and engineering manager. "Because of this and the very reasonable cost of manufacturing in this area, we feel this is a great location to consolidate our operations and expand into this new market." The New York-headquartered company has been offered up to $275,000 in performance-based tax credits and up to $35,000 in training grants from the state contingent on job creation; the city will also provide property tax abatement.
