Verifications Inc., a provider of employment screening and applicant processing services, will purchase a building in Watertown, South Dakota, to establish a permanent location there, according to the South Dakota governor's office. The Minnesota-headquartered company, which has been leasing space in Watertown, plans to hire 50 new employees on top of the current work force of 150. "We are continually shaping our long-term strategies, and finding a business transaction like this, where it works for both parties, is rare, as the financial economy typically has rendered many obstacles," says Curtis Marks, Verificiations' CEO. "The Watertown community and the state of South Dakota helped us accomplish one of our long-term strategies." The company will receive state and local incentives toward the purchase and eventual renovations; no dollar amounts were disclosed.
