Polydeck Screen Corporation, a leading provider of polyurethane and rubber screen media and specialty screening solutions, is expanding its operations in Spartanburg County, South Carolina.

The company recently purchased a building and nearly 4 acres adjacent to its existing facility, increasing its manufacturing footprint to approximately 129,000-square-feet. The $12-million expansion will provide additional space for a research and development lab, a tool and die facility and material warehousing, while also creating 40 new jobs over the next five years.

The company’s current Spartanburg County expansion, the firm’s seventh in South Carolina since 1978, will be achieved with a 36,400-square-foot addition to its existing facility, located at 1790 Dewberry Road in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The expansion will increase Polydeck’s total South Carolina workforce to more than 250 and will allow the company to meet the growing demands of its customers.

“For more than 35 years, South Carolina has provided us a positive business environment and we are pleased to have this opportunity to grow our business base here in Spartanburg. We feel that growth is a direct result of our company vision, which is - To serve our customers and stakeholders with excellence to achieve profitable growth which enables us to care for people in a way that honors God,” said Peter Freissle, Polydeck President.

“To have a great South Carolina company like Polydeck continue to grow and succeed here is proof that the Team South Carolina approach is working. The $12 million Polydeck is investing in Spartanburg County and the 40 jobs they are creating in the local community are both reasons to celebrate, and we look forward to watching them continue to thrive here,” said Governor Nikki Haley. The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved for job development credits related to the project.

“The relationship between Spartanburg County and Polydeck has developed into a mutual partnership over the last 37 years and we thank them for their continued investment and confidence in our community. Polydeck’s core values of humility, honesty, integrity, respect, kindness, and sense of social responsibility are not just hung on the wall; they are lived every day by their leadership and valued employees,” said David Britt, chairman of the Economic Recruitment and Development Committee of Spartanburg County and member of the Economic Futures Group Board.
