Bertram Yacht, a manufacturer of sport-fish yachts, will remain at its current facility in Miami, Florida, rather than move to a new facility in North Carolina. Local economic development official report that the company will instead invest nearly $9 million to expand its headquarters and manufacturing facility, retaining 419 existing jobs and creating up to 150 new positions over the next three years. "The Miami River has the infrastructure we need to continue growing our brand as a leading sport-fish yacht manufacturer, and Miami-Dade County offers the ideal business environment and infrastructure to enable us to reach our markets worldwide," says Giovanni Vacchi, CEO of Bertram Yacht. The Miami Herald reports that the company will receive up to $1 million in state and local tax refunds and additional incentives.
