Emerson, which manufactures and markets ASCO fluid automation products for a wide range of process and manufacturing industry applications, is expanding its ASCO operations in Aiken , South Carolina. The expansion is expected to bring more than $8 million of capital investment and create 86 new jobs.

Located at 1561 Columbia Highway, Emerson’s ASCO business unit will be consolidating its regional cylinder, motion control and accessory product lines to its Aiken facility. ASCO’s fluid and pneumatic technologies, which are part of Emerson Automation Solutions, are critical to the operation of process and manufacturing plants, including those in the automotive, life sciences, packaging, oil and gas and refining industries. ASCO product lines include a full range of solenoid valves, angle body piston valves, valve manifolds, cylinders, filters, regulators and a variety of other solutions.

As an incentive, the Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to this project.

“We are grateful for the support from the South Carolina Department of Commerce. It’s important to Emerson to continue investing in the best possible products and services for our customers, and our available resources in Aiken are allowing us to build upon that strategy for the future growth of our ASCO business. We’d also like to thank the Aiken Economic Development Partnership, Aiken school system and local realtors for their assistance in staffing jobs and helping our employees and families who are relocating to Aiken,” said Emerson’s ASCO Aiken Facility Director of Operations Ed Fox.

“South Carolina continues to show that our manufacturing industry is one of the best in the world, and ASCO’s latest expansion in Aiken is a further testament to that. We’ve worked hard to create a pro-business environment and a highly-trained workforce, and those efforts continue to pay off,” Governor Henry McMaster said.
