HC Composites, a manufacturer of twin-hull boats, will invest $2.65 million to expand its facility in Tarboro, North Carolina, according to the North Carolina governor's office. The project is expected to create 120 new jobs. The company, which does business as World Cat, is purchasing Glacier Bay Catamarans of Washington and will consolidate the two brands' operations at the Tarboro factory. "The union of these two brands will provide incredible synergy and ability to serve our combined customers better," says Chris Brockway, president of Glacier Bay. "We are extremely fortunate to have this opportunity." HC Composites has been offered an incentives package that includes a $130,000 grant from the state to be matched by local agencies, contingent on job creation.
