The convenient foods business unit of PepsiCo, Frito-Lay will invest in its production center, transforming the 38-year-old campus into a mega-facility, in Southwest Charlotte, North Carolina. This new mega-facility is expected to create 30 to 35 new jobs and result in a facility expansion with upgraded technology.

“The proposed investment at the Charlotte facility would upgrade the site to include high-technology equipment that combines its manufacturing operations with on-site distribution,” said John Irwin, Vice President of Supply Chain for the Carolinas region. “We look forward to the expansion and opportunities it will bring to our dedicated, hard-working team and this supportive community.”

“Frito-Lay is a critical player in the Charlotte region’s manufacturing landscape. The company’s commitment to advance their capabilities not only creates new jobs but enhances the technological innovation of their manufacturing facility,” said Bob Morgan, Charlotte Chamber CEO/President.
