MSI-Forks Inc., a British-based world leader in fork-arms manufacturing, is expanding its existing operations at Antrim Business Park in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The company is investing $3.5 million to construct a 40,000-square-foot facility and create 33 new jobs over the next five years in York County.

Established in 1964, MSI-Forks is a subsidiary of MS International, which is based in the United Kingdom. In 1994, the company opened its first distribution facility in South Carolina. Seventeen years later, in 2011, MSI-Forks established its current York County manufacturing facility.

In addition to housing MSI-Forks’ existing York County manufacturing operations, the new facility will also serve as the company’s North American headquarters. Anticipated to be fully operational in the second quarter of 2016, hiring for the new positions is expected to begin in the spring of 2016.

As an incentive, the Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved a $55,000 Set Aside grant to York County to assist with the costs of real property improvements related to the project.

“MSI-Forks has been present in the U.S. since 1994 and the new South Carolina manufacturing plant will help us to consolidate and expand our position in North America. It shows our long-term commitment to the material handling industry in the United States,” MSI-Forks Inc. CEO Caio Lima said.

“We’re always excited to celebrate the success of one of our existing companies. MSI-Forks’ decision to invest $3.5 million, create 33 new jobs and establish its North American headquarters in York County truly is a testament to this great company’s commitment to our state and its people, that really is a reason to celebrate throughout South Carolina, Governor Nikki Haley commented.
