Triumph Foods, a leading pork processing company, will invest $7.5 million to expand its facility in St. Joseph, Missouri, with plans to create 105 new full-time jobs within one year, Missouri Economic Development officials said.

Triumph Foods provides a variety of premium pork products to food producers both domestically and internationally. Founded in 2006, Triumph Foods has quickly grown to become one of the top pork processing companies, officials said. The St. Joseph-based company currently employs approximately 2,800 people and processes 5.8 million hogs each year in its state-of-the-art plant.

According to its website, last October the firm announced the company planned construction of a 30,000 sq. ft. expansion. The company said it planned to add additional refrigerated space to meet the growing demand for export product. “The expansion will allow us to meet growing customer demands for quality pork product”, said Patt Lilly, Chief Administrative Officer for Triumph Foods at that time.

Some of Missouri’s resources and initiatives that have aided business expansions include the Certified Work Ready Communities Program, export assistance, customized job recruitment and screening, Certified Site designation, and its LocationOne site and building database. As an incentive to assist Triumph Foods, LLC with its recent expansion, the Department of Economic Development authorized a strategic economic incentive package that the company can receive if it meets strict job creation and investment criteria.
