The Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (NACA), a provider of affordable lending programs for low- and moderate-income families, will invest more than $4 million to expand its operations in Charlotte, North Carolina, according to the North Carolina governor's office. The organization plans to hire 550 new mortgage negotiators, customer service representatives, call center managers, and mortgage counselors immediately at an average annual salary of $35,982 plus benefits; total hiring over the next five years is expected to reach 1,014. "NACA is excited that it it's putting more than 1,000 people to work during these tough economic times," says Bruce Marks, NACA's CEO. "Today's announcement is more than just a sound bite -- we are following through on this investment by holding a jobs fair tomorrow to hire 550 people immediately." The state will provide NACA with a $1 million grant that is contingent on job creation and retention.
