Area Development
Fresenius Medical Care North America (FMCNA), a provider of products and services to treat kidney failure, is slated to move into a 70,000-square-foot facility in the Shasta Gateway Industrial Park in Shasta Lake, California. Kevin King, the company's senior director of distribution operations, cited the city's location, equidistant between Seattle and Los Angeles, as a key factor in the decision to expand there. Construction on the facility, which will serve as a regional distribution center of the company's products, began last year and should be completed in August. FMCNA, headquartered in Boston, plans to employ an initial staff of 40 employees.
