Sun Products, a provider of laundry care products, is investing nearly $11 million to build a 1.4 million-square-foot distribution center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The company already employs nearly 1,000 people in the city, and will consolidate its nine existing facilities surrounding Bowling Green into one warehouse and distribution center.

The investment will also fund a new warehouse management system and material handling equipment for customer shipping operations.

"We are pleased to have chosen Bowling Green as the home for our new distribution center," said Blair Hawley, senior vice president of logistics and distribution at Sun Products. "The Commonwealth of Kentucky is a valued business partner and the success of this project is a tribute to working together to generate opportunities that benefit the local economy and community, and that support our company's vision for growth."

The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority has preliminarily approved the company for tax benefits up to $630,000 through the Kentucky Enterprise Initiative Act. The act allows the company to recoup state sales and use taxes for the cost of construction materials, building fixtures, and research and development equipment.

Sun Products has headquarters in Wilton, Connecticut and produces laundry products under the all, Snuggle, Sun, Wisk, Surf, and Sunlight brands.
