Area Development
The Dr. Pepper Snapple Group will construct a new $120 million facility in Victorville, California, that will serve as the company's regional manufacturing and distribution hub to serve California and parts of the desert Southwest. The new 850,000-square-foot plant will be built at the Southern California Logistics Airport and will include 550,000 square feet of warehouse space and 300,000 square feet of manufacturing space with up to six separate manufacturing lines. More than 200 new jobs are planned with the expansion. Along with Dr. Pepper soda and Snapple fruit and iced tea beverages, the company's portfolio also includes 7UP, A&W, Hawaiian Punch, Canada Dry, Schweppes, RC Cola, Diet Rite, Yoo-Hoo, and Mott's apple drinks. Construction is set to begin in October, with opening in early 2010. At full operation, the facility is expected to have capacity for 40 million cases of product per year.
