Commercial trucking equipment manufacturer EkoStinger Inc. will move from its current location in Henrietta to a new, larger facility in East Rochester, New York. The expansion is expected to create 53 new full-time jobs in Monroe County.

Founded in 2013, EkoStinger Inc. manufactures a two-part aerodynamic system for tractor trailers. EkoShield is a Cross Member Cover that protects the bottom of the trailer keeping unwanted elements out while at the same time, increasing fuel economy.

Parr Wiegel President & CEO of EkoStinger said, "Empire State Developmentā€™s grant will help EkoStinger grow into the dominant player in tractor trailer aerodynamics. The new facility will allow the company to produce and ship the EkoStinger throughout North America much more efficiently. The result will be more products sold and more people working in Rochester, New York."

To encourage EkoStinger Inc. to proceed with the project, Empire State Development offered up to $450,000 through the Excelsior Jobs Program in exchange for job creation commitments. The total project cost is a little more than $1.4 million.

"Supporting and helping successful companies to grow in the region is critical to moving the Finger Lakes Forward," Governor Andrew Cuomo said. "By fostering a strong business climate we can ensure New York remains a leader in growing the innovation economy and providing new opportunities and jobs for Finger Lakes residents for decades to come."

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo said, "Monroe County is proud to celebrate the success of EkoStinger Incorporated as a job creator. This company is a local success story, creating and retaining sixty local jobs. By expanding and generating opportunities for local workers, they are having a positive impact right here in Monroe County."
