Nature's Path Foods, Inc., a manufacturer of organic breakfast foods and snack bars, will establish a manufacturing facility in Sussex, Wisconsin. The company, based in British Columbia, Canada, has acquired an existing facility formerly used to produce frozen pizza and will invest $25 million to convert the factory over the next year and a half. The project will create at least 159 new jobs. "Building our plant in Sussex is not only about making cereal, it is about doing business in a socially responsible and more environmentally sustainable way," says Arran Stephens, Nature's Path founder and CEO. "This new plant will help us to better serve the U.S. market east of the Rockies, as we save precious resources and limit the miles our products need to travel." Incentives offered to the company include a $250,000 training grant from the state.
