C&L Aerospace, a regional carrier repair, maintenance, parts support, and aircraft management services company, plans a $5 million expansion at its Bangor, Maine, airport facility, with plans to create up to 70 jobs in the region.

The firm’s plans include investing $1.8 million to transform an existing 17,000 square foot hangar at Bangor International Airport into an aircraft paint facility, along with $3 million in facility and maintenance hangar upgrades.

“The expansion will help create a one-stop service center for regional aircraft owners across the globe,” stated Chris Kilgour, CEO of C&L Aerospace. “We’ll be able to perform heavy maintenance and paint an aircraft up to the size of an Embraer 190 at one location, saving our customers costly ferry flights and decreasing their aircraft downtime.”

C&L was assisted in its expansion by Bangor Economic Development Officials. The airport recently received a $580,000 federal grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Association to assist with facility upgrades.
