Area Development
Rancho Poultry, a joint venture between Keystone Foods of Pennsylvania and Lopez Foods of Oklahoma, will construct a new chicken processing facility in Lebanon, Kentucky. The $43 million project will consist of a 100,000-square-foot plant featuring two processing lines that will be capable of producing 60 million pounds of partially cooked, battered and breaded chicken annually. The company plans to hire approximately 250 people, with the potential for 50 more if a third production line is added. Rancho Poultry supplies processed chicken to a number of restaurants and food stores, including McDonald's. State and local incentives include tax benefits of up to $7.5 million under the Kentucky Rural Economic Development Act.
