MWI Veterinary Supply Inc., a distributor of animal health products, will invest $1.5 million to expand its distribution operations in Whitestown, Indiana, according to the Indiana governor's office. The Idaho-headquartered company plans to create 30 new jobs for warehouse and management associates later this summer. MWI distributes pharmaceuticals, vaccines, parasiticides, diagnostics, and veterinary pet food from 12 distribution centers throughout the United States. "MWI was attracted to Whitestown due to both its excellent logistics location and work force," says James Cleary, the company's president and CEO. "We look forward to our growth in Indiana." The opening of the facility addition is scheduled for October of this year. The state has offered MWI up to $200,000 in performance-based tax credits and $22,500 in training grants, contingent on job creation; the town will consider additional property tax abatement.
