Area Development
McLane Advanced Technologies (MAT), a provider of technology and logistics service to military, government, and commercial clients, will invest $9 million to expand its facilities in Temple, Texas, according to the Texas governor's office. The company plans to create 225 new jobs with the project. KWTX-TV reports on its website that MAT plans to build a three-story, 62,000-square-foot office building that will be the first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)-certified commercial building in Bell County and will be designed for energy and water efficiency and indoor environmental quality. "We are very excited about helping to expand the Temple-area economy, and hope that companies looking for a new facility location will take a closer look at what Temple has to offer," says Drayton McLane Jr., owner of the company. "MAT has continued to grow within the commercial, military, and government sectors and add employees, and the Texas Enterprise Fund was a key factor in our decision to expand our operations to accommodate that growth in Temple." The state will provide, through that fund, a $1 million incentive to MAT for the expansion.
