Trend Micro, a security software and solutions company, opened its Global Operations Headquarters in Irving-Las Colinas, Texas. The new location, near Dallas, will house its business units, including: threat research, finance, legal, customer support, commercial sales and marketing, and human resources. Initially 220 employees will initially work at the facility, with a potential for additional expansion, the company said.

"With our new base of operations in the United States, we are further demonstrating a relentless dedication to customers as we enter a new era after our first quarter century in business. We are excited that 'Trenders' from all around the world will experience the vibrant business community the Dallas-Fort Worth area has to offer."

Trend Micro was founded in 1988 by Steve and Jenny Chang, along with her sister, Eva Chen, in Los Angeles. The company said as its “top competitors have diversified into other businesses, Trend Micro has emerged as the largest company in the world that is solely focused on cyber security software and solutions."
