Impact Racing LLC, a manufacturer of equipment and supplies for the motorsports industry, will construct a new facility in Clermont, Indiana, with an investment of $3.7 million, according to the Indiana governor's office. More than 100 new jobs are planned over the next three years along with the project. The company plans to build a 20,000-square-foot plant that will manufacture uniforms for race teams and motorsports officials in the Indy Racing League, NASCAR, and NHRA racing organizations. "Indiana is the racing capital of the world," says Bill Simpson, founder and president of Impact Racing. "It only seems reasonable to have your business here." The state has offered Impact Racing up to $590,000 in performance-based tax credits and up to $15,000 in training grants contingent on job creation. Local governments will also consider property tax abatement.
