Area Development
CTA Acoustics, Inc. has announced it will invest $9 million to lease and equip a 93,000 sq.-ft. facility in Orland, Indiana, and create up to 140 jobs by 2014. The new plant will specialize in under-hood and under-dash insulation for the GM truck and SUV lines in Indiana and Michigan.

Headquartered in Madison Heights, Michigan, the company is a manufacturer and supplier of fiber-blended products for thermal/acoustical applications serving the North American auto industry (e.g., GM, Ford, Chrysler, Nissan).

CTA Acoustics employs 375 people nationwide. Later this year it will begin to hire both manufacturing and management employees to work at the new location.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered the company up to $1.16 million in performance-based tax credits and up to $100,000 in training grants (based on the firm's job creation plans). The town of Orland will consider additional property tax abatement at the request of the Steuben County Economic Development Corporation.
