Samsung and its partners have committed to bring $7 billion in investment to Ontario to create 2,500 MW of new renewable energy sources. This investment is helping establish four manufacturing facilities in Ontario, creating 900 new manufacturing jobs and 16,000 jobs overall in Ontario's Green Economy. These initiatives are a direct result of Samsung's Green Energy Investment Agreement with the Government of Ontario.
"Together with our partners, Samsung is proud to be making an unprecedented $7 billion private-sector investment in Ontario," said Cheol-Woo Lee, Senior Executive VP of Samsung C&T Corp. "We are moving forward aggressively to fulfill our commitment to induce new green manufacturing in Ontario, to help us build the world's largest cluster of wind and solar power [and put] Ontario on the global clean energy map."
