Area Development
Don Construction Products, a U.K.-based world leader in developing, manufacturing and marketing advanced technology products for the construction industry, is launching its first U.S. manufacturing operations in KCH Industrial Park at 1409 Kershaw Camden Highway, 59 miles northeast of Columbia, in Heath Springs, South Carolina.

The new development is projected to bring $6.2 million in capital investment and create 21 new jobs in Lancaster County. DCP will be establishing a new construction materials manufacturing operation in order to diversify the company’s product portfolio to include additional dry mortars, sealants, resins and polymer-based products.

The company expects hiring for the new positions to begin in the second quarter of 2018. As an incentive, the Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to this project.

“We are very happy to start operating in the U.S. market. The U.S. is the largest market in the world and has a very promising future. South Carolina has a lot to offer for the business and has a healthy environment to operate in. Construction in the Southeast is very healthy, and the plant should be well located to service this area,” said Don Construction CEO Tawfic Ghandour.

“Lancaster County couldn’t be more pleased that Don Construction has selected our community for their first U.S. facility. Manufacturing is Lancaster County’s strength, and one of our top priorities is growing the manufacturing base in the central and southern areas of the county. Don Construction will do just that,” Lancaster County Council Chairman Steve Harper said.
