Mass Tank Sales Corporation of Middleboro, Massachusetts, will expand to manufacture foundations and other metal components for the Cape Wind renewable energy development in Nantucket Sound. The company will initially create more than 100 jobs, with the possibility of adding more than 350 total positions, to accommodate the project.

"This project will help spearhead Massachusetts as a supply-chain leader in offshore wind, creating hundreds of jobs for the Commonwealth. This is a great example of the public and private sectors working together, and I'd like to thank Governor [Deval] Patrick and the Cape Wind team for making this possible."

Mass Tank will partner with Germany's EEW Group, a global manufacturer of offshore wind energy structural components. Cape Wind Associates has established a Letter of intent with EEW and Mass Tank to purchase monopile foundations and transition parts for the wind project.

The project will require construction of a new facility in Massachusetts. A site has not yet been selected.
