Mounting Systems, a German company that produces goods for mounting solar panels, will create 100 jobs in West Sacramento, California. The company will also locate its U.S. headquarters in the city, as well as its first North American plant.

The company selected West Sacramento because it is, said Chief Executive Kasim Ersoy, "the hot spot of the solar market and a major logistical hub on the West Coast."

Mounting Systems will purchase a facility located in an enterprise zone, which will allow for it to qualify for tax incentives. That factor set West Sacramento apart from competing city Phoenix, Arizona, according to Tracey Schaal of the Sacramento Area Commerce & Trade Organization (SACTO).
