Harris Corporation, defense contractor and an industry leader in technologies for defense, space, weather, air traffic management and electronic warfare, plans a major expansion of its workforce at its Technology Center in Brevard County, Florida.

The firm plans to hire 300 new engineering, finance and supply chain positions to support its Electronic Systems, Critical Networks, and Space and Intelligence Systems segments.

According to the firm, many of the open positions will be based within the company’s ultra-modern 464,000-square-foot Harris Technology Center, which serves as the innovation hub for Harris’ more than $1 billion advanced research and development efforts.

“Harris’ culture favors an entrepreneurial mindset, and our environment encourages engineers and scientists who are passionate about building mission critical technologies that solve the toughest challenges,” said Robert Duffy, Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Administration.

“That spirit of innovation has fueled Harris for the last 120 years and earned us leading positions in our core franchises of tactical communications, geospatial, weather, avionics, space and air traffic management. There has never been a more exciting time to be at Harris,” he added.

Company officials said technical openings are for experienced software, mechanical and electrical engineers who will work on a variety of important programs that the company supports in air traffic management, weather, space, cyber and electronic warfare. The finance and supply chain openings will support many of these same programs, company officials said.
