Armstrong World Industries is investing $30 to $35 million to build a new, 30,000-square-foot mineral wool plant near Ravenswood, West Virginia. The project is expected to create 40 to 45 permanent jobs.

"We are confident that this is the right place to build our new plant, and we are looking forward to getting started and building a bright future here in West Virginia," said Armstrong's Vice President for Finance Michael J. Connors.

Armstrong chose the site because of its competitive electricity rates and location, which is accessible to raw materials suppliers and other Armstrong facilities.

Mineral wool is a key component of Armstrong's acoustical ceiling tiles. The project is expected to be complete by mid-2012.
