Insurance giant Aetna is planning to add 245 new jobs at its facility in New Albany, Ohio, to support new business. The company says it will make use of existing space in its 162,000-square-foot facility; necessary improvements to the space should be ready to house the new employees by July. Positions will include care management nurses, health concierges, project managers, and support staff, and salaries will range from $25,000 to $85,000 per year plus benefits. "We expect to add one million new members this year, and our expansion in New Albany will allow us to accommodate for this growth, as well as anticipated future growth," says Mark Bertolini, Aetna's president. "Central Ohio has an excellent pool of qualified labor. We already have approximately 1,000 highly qualified and dedicated employees at our New Albany facility and felt confident we would find more of the same if we chose to expand in New Albany." The state has offered Aetna an incentives package of tax breaks and grants that total approximately $3.5 million, contingent on job creation.
