Emerson announced today that it opened a $30 million valve-testing facility in Marshalltown, Iowa that has been under construction since April 2007, according to the St. Louis Business Journal. The facility's Innovation Center measures 136,000 square feet, and its flow lab is 27,500 square feet.

The facility tests valves for liquefied natural gas plants and oil and gas refineries before they are installed at customer sites. The company employs 1,200 people in Marshalltown.
