Shamrock Plank Flooring, a division of J.T. Shannon Lumber, will invest $1 million to expand its presence in north Mississippi by locating manufacturing center in the 62,900-square-foot facility formerly occupied by Stylecraft Lamps in Hernando, Mississippi.

Shamrock Plank Flooring, manufacturer of high-end hardwood flooring, also has operations in Horn Lake, Miss., where the company has 140 employees. The company initially plans to hire 25 employees at its Hernando facility.

“I appreciate J.T. Shannon Lumber for its continued investment in Mississippi and confidence in our workforce,” Gov. Phil Bryant said. “By locating these new operations in Hernando, the company is demonstrating that ‘Mississippi Works!’ and that our business climate is favorable for companies looking to expand or locate in the state.”

The Mississippi Development Authority provided assistance in support of the project for infrastructure improvements. The Nesbit Water Association and the City of Hernando provided assistance for the project, as well.

“J.T. Shannon Lumber has been a valued member of Mississippi’s business community for more than three decades, and I am grateful to the company for further investing in our state and creating jobs for the residents of north Mississippi,” said MDA Executive Director Brent Christensen. “MDA is honored to have assisted with this project, and we appreciate our local partners in Hernando for working to make this project possible.”
