Tubing manufacturer United Stainless will invest $3.4 million to expand its facility in Selmer, Tennessee. Located at 130 Three Star Drive, the expansion will include a 30,000 square foot building addition that will accommodate additional cutting and fabricating equipment along with more efficient storage and handling.

United Stainless provides a wide range of stainless and corrosion resistant alloys for superior strength, bend ability, temperature requirements and longevity. Headquartered in Beloit, Wisconsin, United Industries currently operates two companies in Selmer – United Stainless and United Industries Cutting & Fabricating.

“We are excited about the continued growth of our cutting and fabricating facility and the opportunities this will bring to our local community,” United Stainless Vice President of Manufacturing Steve Glidewell said. “We would like to give special thanks to the local and state government officials who have participated and assisted in the planning and development of our facility expansion.”

“Tennessee is an attractive location for companies around the world with our business-friendly environment, solid workforce and tradition of quality manufacturing” Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty said. “Servicing nearly a dozen countries globally, United Stainless continues to grow, succeed and drive job creation throughout southwest Tennessee, and I appreciate the company’s decision to expand its McNairy County operations and further invest in our state.”

“We are very pleased that United Stainless has once again chosen Selmer for an additional expansion to their business,” Selmer Mayor David Robinson said. “We look forward to the additional jobs that will be created in the community. They are a pleasure to work with and we look forward to a long relationship.”

Ted Moore, executive director of the McNairy County Economic Development Commission, said; “This is their eighth expansion over the past few years. It says a lot for the company as they continue growth in these difficult economic conditions. Those expansions have allowed them to more than double the number of employees and operate from two locations in Selmer. We appreciate the positive economic impact they have on our local economy.”
