YG-1 America, Inc. plans to locate its advanced manufacturing center in Charlotte, North Carolina, creating 53 jobs and investing approximately $13.8 million over the next three years in Mecklenburg County.

YG-1 America, Inc. is a subsidiary of YG-1 Co., Ltd., which is among the fastest growing companies in the advanced tool manufacturing industry, according to the North Carolina Department of Commerce. It produces numerous instruments including drills, taps, end mills, spade drills and rotary tooling.

The project was made possible in part by a performance-based grant from the One North Carolina Fund of up to $135,000. The One NC Fund provides financial assistance, through local governments, to attract business projects that will stimulate economic activity and create new jobs in the state. Companies receive no money up front and must meet job creation and investment performance standards to qualify for grant funds. These grants also require and are contingent upon local matches.
