QuikTrip, a travel and convenience store company, has purchased a distribution center in RailPort, Midlothian, Texas, investing more than $25 million and creating more than 40 jobs. It will occupy a 316,000-square-foot space located near the DFW Metroplex.
"The opportunity for us to have tremendous growth
(in North Texas) in terms of store count and
additional employees is phenomenal," said
QuikTrip spokesperson Mike Thornbrugh. "When
you reach that critical mass, where people know
who you are, you become a destination for those
who are out of gas, those who are thirsty and those
who are hungry."
QuikTrip ships more than 70 percent of its products through its own warehouses. The Corporation for the Economic Development of Midlothian negotiated with the company for four months before the purchase.
