Koyo Corporation of U.S.A., a major supplier of bearings to the automotive industry, will invest $10 million to expand and upgrade its facilities in Orangeburg, South Carolina, according to state commerce officials. The project will allow the company to preserve existing employment levels. "We've operated our plant in Orangeburg for more than 30 years and look forward to continuing to grow in the Global Logistics Triangle," says Yoichi Teramoto, the company's vice president of administration. "South Carolina has long provided our company with a positive business environment and a strong work force. We appreciate all the support we've received from state and local officials." Koyo Corporation of U.S.A. is a U.S. subsidiary of Japan-headquartered JTEKT Corporation. The company expects to begin installation of the new equipment sometime this year.
