SCA's North American Personal Care facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky is investing $50 million and creating up to 65 jobs as part of an expansion. The company currently employs 180 people.

"This project includes both the expansion of an existing manufacturing line and the introduction of new manufacturing capabilities," said Sune Lundin, president of SCA Americas. "Part of the project will allow SCA to begin manufacturing products in Bowling Green that we have been importing from Europe."

The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority has pre-approved SCA for tax incentives up to $1.625 million through the Kentucky Industrial Development Act.

SCA produces adult incontinence products that are sold in retail stores and healthcare institutions such as nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

The company has also entered into a manufacturing agreement with Japanese company Unicharm. The project represents Unicharm's first manufacturing effort in the United States.
