Joy Cone Co., one of the world's largest ice cream cone makers, is expanding its operations in Hermitage, Pennsylvania. The company will add 50 jobs at its facility and invest $21 million to expand its factory by 190,000 square feet.

Joy Cone has been making ice cream cones for 85 years. It produces more than 1.5 billion cones annually at its Pennsylvania and Arizona factories.

The Penn Northwest Development Corp. worked with Joy Cone and the Governor's Action Team to secure $2.1 million from the Department of Community and Economic Development for the project. That includes a $2 million loan from the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority, $21,150 in job training assistance, and $47,000 in job creation tax credits.
