HCL America, a provider of information technology services, will open a facility in Wake County, North Carolina, with a $3.2 million investment. The company plans to hire approximately 513 workers over the next five years at an average annual salary of $46,660 plus benefits. "The decision to open the North Carolina delivery center reflects our optimism about the U.S. economy and the continued importance of our U.S. clients to our business," says Shami Khorana, president of HCL America, which is headquartered in California. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of India-based HCL Technologies Ltd. The company has been offered incentives that could total $5.07 million contingent on job creation. In Charlotte, Time Warner Entertainment Company L.P. will expand its existing cable television operations with a $3.68 million investment. More than 200 new jobs are planned over the next four years at an average annual salary of $70,375 plus benefits. The state will award the company a job development grant that will pay a portion of the new employees' wages, up to a value of $3.18 million contingent on retention of the jobs at the facility.
