Area Development
Noranda Aluminum Holding Corp. is growing in Salisbury, North Carolina with help from a $108,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund. The company will invest $7 million in a facility expansion and create 25 jobs.

"Noranda is excited to have this opportunity to expand our footprint in Salisbury, Rowan County, and the State of North Carolina," said Mike Fox, Salisbury plant manager. "In particular, Noranda would like to acknowledge our strong relationship with our Salisbury work force, their commitment to continuous improvement that enabled Noranda to make this type of investment, and the guidance and direction that the RowanWorks Economic Development team provided."

Norandal USA, a subsidiary of Noranda, will put the funds toward its Salisbury rolling mill, producing aluminum foil for commercial uses. The company plans to update its machinery and boost production capacity.
