J. M. Smucker is closing two pickle and condiment manufacturing facilities in Canada, eliminating 150 jobs. The affected plants are in Dunnville and Delhi Township, Ontario. The sites will be shuttered by November 2011.

The company attributed the decision to cost-cutting measures. Smucker predicts it will save $8 million each year as a result.

Smucker will transfer the work of the two facilities to third-party producers in the United States and a Smucker facility in Ripon, Wisconsin. In March, Smucker announced that it planned to shut down four facilities, eliminate 700 jobs, and thus save $60 million each year.
