In a recent paper, the Vale Columbia Center on Sustainable International Investment asks how the change in federal administration has affected the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). CFIUS has generally continued to function well under the Obama administration. But there have been some changes. Overall mergers and acquisitions slowed from 2008 to 2009, resulting in reduced CFIUS filings, the first downward trend in nearly a decade. And CFIUS review completions also slowed last year, a potential worry for investors. To read the full paper, visit the Vale Columbia Center.
