Structured Collboration Keeps Large Capital Projects Efficient
How can companies implement structured collaboration seamlessly for project teams that have never used the method and, how common is structured collaboration today? Do you predict more companies will adopt the practice?
Phil Wales, CEO, eBusiness Strategies
Companies are already practicing some form of informal collaboration as they execute large projects. The trick is to create a governance and process framework ("rule-of-the-road,"already most likely supported by existing collaboration tools), which standardizes how collaboration is executed. In other words, project teams must make a conscious effort to get on the same page with each other. The governance framework tool helps them achieve this objective.

Structured collaboration is still in its early stages as a "common best practice tool". However, it is gaining prominence in companies with complex, high risk & high capital projects, such as the Exploration and Production (E&P) industry.
