Lighting and HVAC Top Energy Saving Strategies
Georgia food processors have adopted eco-friendly lighting and HVAC to save energy, strategies that other industries can also employ.
What are some energy-saving strategies Georgia food processors have implemented that other industries could also benefit from?

Emelyne C. (Em) Williams, Communications Coordinator, Georgia Power
Almost all industries could benefit from installing lighting that utilizes new technologies to save energy and reduce maintenance. It’s also a good idea to periodically evaluate HVAC systems to determine if they are operating efficiently or if installing a new system is called for. Often, the payback is pretty quick on more energy efficient heating and air systems. Energy audits can also help determine where recoverable energy is being lost in a facility, how to save in production areas of the plant by using new efficient electro-technologies, and whether or not the facility qualifies for rebates or tax incentives in making energy efficiency improvements.
