Ports across the U.S. recognize that an equitable balance of traffic is one of the keys to sustainability in slow economic periods, and in accelerating their growth during up cycles. Over the past year, nearly every port on both the East and West Coasts reported increases in their container cargo traffic, and in most cases an improvement in exports was cited as among the contributing factors to their positive performance.
